There are many benefits to exercising outside:

As outside terrain is uneven you are necessitated to work much harder than in the gym and as a consequence burn up to 20% more calories than indoors
- Strengthens your core
As you are exercising on uneven surfaces it is necessary for you to engage your core muscles in order to stabilise your balance meaning you can obtain stronger abs without even being aware of it.
- Improves oxygenation
As you are exercising outdoors you are increasing your absorption of oxygen which is pumped around the body as you exercise – enhancing your feel good factor
- Combats SAD
For many of the ladies attending the sessions this is often the first opportunity they have had to get outside after a long day in the office. By exercising outside you also get the benefits of preventing the onset of the Seasonal Effective Disorder which leads to depression.
