Pre and post natal personal training

I’m very experienced with both pre and post-pregnancy exercise. 

I have helped women to achieve theBMI stipulated by the NHS in order to receive IVF treatment. Some of them didn’t even need the IVF treatment because they fell pregnant naturally once they reached their optimum health levels.

I have also trained women throughout their pregnancies (including myself, three times)! and seen the following benefits: 

  • Reduced risk of developing gestational diabetes 
  • Reduced risk of developing high blood pressure during your pregnancy 
  • Fewer obstetric interventions (eg forceps) 
  • Reduction in the active stage of labour (the painful stage) 
  • More energy and improved sleep 
  • Quicker return to pre-pregnancy weight 
  • Reduction in bone density loss while breastfeeding 
  • Decreased incidence of loss of bladder control during and post pregnancy 
  • Reduction in common complaints such as haemorrhoids, constipation, leg cramps and back pain 

The benefits of pumping oxygen to your baby throughout pregnancy can include: 

  • Babies have less body fat at birth. Some research shows that the benefits of lower body fat might translate into the reduction in the incidence of heart disease and diabetes in adulthood. 
  • Infants are less cranky and less likely to have colic. 
  • Children have greater neurodevelopmental scores in oral language and motor areas when tested at age 5!
